It’s 2021!! We made it! Honestly, it doesn’t feel too much different for me. I know it will take time and hopefully be wholly better than 2020. But in all reality, 2020 wasn’t too terrible for me. But for the US and the world as a whole, it was pretty awful. I do hope to start the year off with some challenging yet attainable goals. I took these goals from my 21 for 2021 List. Below are my January goals:
January Goals #1: Write 2 blog posts per week
My first goal is to write two blog posts per week. I just started this blog and want to focus on it! I think writing 2 posts a week is an attainable, yet challenging goal. I already know I am going to have to commit some time to it. Treat it more like work, I wouldn’t let my boss down at my 9-5, so I definitely won’t let myself down! I know intrinsic motivation doesn’t work for everyone, but it seems to typically work for me.
In The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin, she talks about how different people are motivated and held accountable. She says the Four Tendencies are Obliger, Upholder, Questioner, and Rebel. I think I am a Questioner, so I don’t necessarily need outside accountability, but I need my habits to make sense to me. You can take the quiz here.
January Goal #2: Drink 48 oz. of water at work
I have a 24 oz. water bottle on my desk and typically fill it and drink it only once per day. I typically have a coffee in the morning and drink the water mid-morning or afternoon. I would like to fill my water bottle twice and drink it throughout the day. I’m at work for at least 8 hours if not more, so it really shouldn’t be too difficult! Actually, I would really love to get this water bottle. And only have to fill it up once! If anyone has any tips on how to drink more water, I’d love to hear them! Tell me in the comments!
January Goals #3: 21 Day Tone Workout Plan
Would it really be a January goal post if there wasn’t some sort of workout or diet goal? No really, I do love a good workout plan! I’ve been following Cassey Ho at Blogilates for years. She has a ton of energy and is just so real, I love her! Not to mention, her workouts are a killer. She does a lot of different challenges and they are so fun. This one is a 21 Day Tone Plan that is free on her app!
I sometimes struggle with a goal or challenge that is something you have to do everyday. I think I like the idea of a break or I feel like if I miss a day I’ve failed. But, I want to complete this challenge even if I miss a few days. The app is great in that is tells you exactly what workout to do and you can check it off when you’re done. I love a good checked off list!
That’s it! I’ve got three goals this month. Attainable, yet challenging. It’s really tempting to load myself up with a ton of goals each month, but then I feel like I don’t accomplish any of them. By keeping it to 3, I’m hoping I can accomplish them all and really dedicate my time to each of them.
What are your January goals? I’d love to hear them in the comments. Goal setting is so important to set yourself up for a good year and a good life! I like to break down what I want to accomplish this year and incorporate them into my monthly goals. While also leaving room to grow throughout the year. Good luck everybody!
Much love,
Justina
